Start Here If You Dont Know Where To Begin

You didn’t end up on this page by accident. Something’s heavy right now, and you went looking for something that might help. This is meant to be the page that points you somewhere useful instead of making you dig through the whole site to find it.

Two different things tend to bring people here. Pick whichever one’s actually true today.

if it’s a person

If what’s heavy is a relationship — the kind that left you rewriting the story in your head months later, wondering how you missed it, or whether you missed it at all — start with Domestic Abuse & How to Support Women. It covers more than the version of abuse that leaves a mark you can point to.

If you want the ache named better than most things manage to name it, Warsan Shire already did that.

And if you’re at the point of asking yourself the harder question — not just what he did, but why you let it get that far — I wrote about that specifically. I also made three zines about it, because I went looking for something that named the whole mechanism without a checklist or a therapist’s voice, and it didn’t exist yet. So I made it instead.

if it’s something else

Not everything heavy is about a person. Sometimes it’s your own creative work, or your own overwhelmed nervous system, and none of that requires a relationship history to explain it.

If someone stole your art and you don’t know what’s actually worth doing about it, start here.

If you’re too angry to make anything right now, these prompts are built for exactly that — not to calm you down, just to get it out of your body and onto a page.

If it’s less one specific thing and more just everything, all the time, lately, this is a low-effort way to find your footing — a pen, paper, and a deck of cards. Nothing fancier than that.

if none of this is quite it

That’s fine too. You don’t owe this page a diagnosis. Read whatever sounds closest and adjust from there. Nothing here requires you to get it right on the first try. But if there is a topic you would like to hear about that is not listed here, drop it in the comments. We are constantly expanding this page and resources section.
